Véronique Gobet, pianiste

From Bach to Berio

Véronique’s directory covers all periods from the Baroque period on. It includes classic (Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven...), romantic (Schumann, Schubert, Brahms, Liszt...), modern (Ravel, Mussorgsky, Debussy, Prokofiev,...) and contemporary (Messiaen, Ligeti, Berio...). However, Véronique has a penchant for French Impressionism, Russian music of the twentieth century and Frédéric Chopin, the romantic. Her first album (released in 2003) gathers the 24 Etudes of the famous Polish composer.

Bringing works by different authors and of different time periods but gravitating around the same idea is the approach Véronique has been offering for some time. A program built around the idea of water features works by Debussy, Ravel, F. Liszt, F. Chopin, G. Fauré. Other programs are for instance dedicated to the themes of light and fire, to music by Chopin or Liszt, as well as to Goldberg’s Variations by Bach.
